I was just a little girl… and yet I already knew so much.

Since I already mentioned how confusing it is whether I’m the first, middle, or fourth child — here’s the story. (And I guess I finally have the courage to say it here.)

Basically, my mom has five children — three from her first relationship and two with my dad. I’m the eldest with my dad. But since my dad adopted my mom’s youngest child from her first relationship, that made us three… so I ended up being the middle child.

How did I find all of this out?
I figured it out on my own , not because anyone explained it to me but through stories I overheard from my relatives during family gatherings. Sometimes, I even heard it directly from my parents.

Imagine being a little girl who knew nothing about the world, then suddenly hearing those things. That’s how I learned the truth. At such a young age, I knew everything — not because I was ready, but because they let it slip without thinking I was listening. It’s kind of funny, but honestly, it hurt. It felt like they didn’t even respect me, not even as a child. They would talk about it right in front of me, like I wasn’t there.

No one ever sat me down to explain anything.
